It is completely safe to drive in two hours. If a door glass or other non glued in part was installed, then the vehicle is safe to drive immediately. After a chip repair there is no wait.

Yes, you can use the shop of your choice. It is always your right to choose the shop you wish to do business with, and no, Safelite is not “the glass shop for your insurance company” regardless if the rep who takes your call says so. That is simply false. There is something called ”steering” where you are being “steered” to use Safelite Auto Glass. This is illegal and wrong on so many levels.
Safelite may answer the calls and process the claims for more than half of the insurance companies out there, but they are called to be neutral and not steer work to themselves. Mountainside Glass is actually a Preferred Network Shop, and your insurance company backs up our work with a guarantee identical to ours. Ask for the shop you want to use by name.
Arizona state law mandates that you have the right to choose any auto glass repair facility for the repair of a loss relating to motor vehicle glass. Your insurance company can say they recommend any company they like but are required to also inform you of your right to choose. This is per law ARS 20-469.
It is YOUR RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHOM YOU WANT TO USE. We ARE, however, a recognized PREFERRED SHOP AFFILIATE MEMBER.on text goes here

Mountainside Glass uses only manufacturer approved replacement glass and parts. These are referred to as OEM. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. An OEM part will have identical details such as rain sensors, dot matrix patterns, heating elements, heads up display, shading, and third visor frit bands. These OEM windshields carry names such as PPG, Pilkington, Sekurit, ULN, APTech, Carlite, Guardian and several other names. These are the very same makers of the glass when you bought it straight off the lot. We use these parts for superior fit and for warranty purposes as well.

We run into this on a continual basis. It is simply NOT TRUE. No insurance company has "their own glass company". This is probably a situation where steering is happening. Know your rights in the state of Arizona, and one is your right to choose whomever you want to replace your glass.
-
No. Arizona state law (ARS 20-263) states that a "No Fault Claim" for auto glass replacement shall not raise your rates. A broken glass caused by a rock, other object, or vandalism cannot be prevented and is not a reflection of any action of the insured. "No insurance company shall increase the motor vehicle insurance premium of an insured as a result of an accident not significantly contributed to by the actions of the insured." Any agent who does raise your premium can be fined $300 for doing so.
-
No we can file the claim with you, generally on a three way call. However, it can speed up the process if you have that authorized ahead of scheduling.
-
We can call your agent or your insurance company to find out. 9 out of 10 times we can schedule you SAME DAY!
-
Most replacements take approximately one hour to an hour and a half from start to finish. We do take our time. We are always leery of companies who claim they take 20 minutes. While this may seem appealing to the consumer in a hurry, it often means that steps were missed, vehicles weren't properly covered or protected, cowls aren't removed as necessary and the glass wasn't properly primed leading to rust issues.
-
Absolutely. It is extremely difficult to see with a sand pitted/sand blasted windshield. Your insurance will cover this as well.
-
No. People everywhere have little time on the road to much time on the road. Some live in rural areas and are more likely to encounter rocks popping up. It is against the law to drive with a broken windshield, and so you should replace your windshield as needed. In Arizona, your insurance company can't ding you for using your glass coverage.
-
No. We have signed contracts with all insurance companies, agreeing to each company's individual pricing structure TO THE PENNY.
-
The benefits are many. For one, by supporting a local business you keep 42% of every dollar spent in the state of Arizona vs. only 13% of every dollar spent by going with a national corporation.
You are also more likely to receive more individualized customer service.

Where is the chip located on the windshield? ie., Driver’s line of vision, passenger side, center, etc.
Is the chip and cracks (cracks included) smaller or larger than a 50 cent piece?
We can repair a chip as long as it is no larger than a 50 cent piece including max damage. We can not repair the glass if there is more than three chips. We are able to repair up to three chips, but if there are more than we will need to do a replacement. (When there are lots of chips all over that could be sandblasting which can make it blurry and hard to see.) Nicks cannot be repaired, but a chip can be fixed as that is a true break.
Our warranty regarding CHIP REPAIRS is as follows: We warranty repairs for the cost of the repair only in the event you are unsatisfied. If your insurance company paid for the repair, we will credit the cost to the insurance company. We will not install a new windshield or pay for a new windshield should the repair process fail.
